Water, taken apart
and put back together.
Waltwater is boiled to vapor, leaving every mineral, metal, and microbe behind — then condensed back into water and nothing else. It's the oldest purification method there is, run in a sealed still instead of a cloud.
Five steps. No additives, no shortcuts.
Distillation is a physical separation, not a chemical one — nothing is added to the water at any point, because nothing needs to be.
Heat
Source water is brought to a rolling boil inside a sealed stainless still.
→Vaporize
Only H₂O molecules turn to steam. Minerals, salts, and metals are too heavy to lift and stay behind.
→Rise
The steam travels up through a copper coil, physically leaving the boiling chamber — and everything in it.
→Condense
Cooled along the coil, the vapor turns back to liquid: pure water, reassembled from steam.
→Collect
The distillate drips into a sealed reservoir and stays sealed until it reaches you.
It's the same process that fills a rain cloud.
The ocean is full of salt, but rain isn't. That's because the sun does exactly what a still does: it heats seawater until it evaporates, leaving the salt behind, and the vapor rises and cools until it condenses into clouds. What falls back down is fresh water — nature's own distillation, running on a planetary scale.
Waltwater runs the same cycle on a countertop — a sealed heat source instead of the sun, a copper coil instead of the sky, and a schedule instead of a season. The physics doesn't change. Only the size of the sky does.
How distillation stacks up.
Different purification methods remove different things. This is what actually leaves the water in each one.
| Method | Dissolved minerals | Bacteria & viruses | PFAS / heavy metals | Typical TDS |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vapor distilled (Waltwater) | Removed | Removed | Removed | ~0 ppm |
| Reverse osmosis | Mostly removed | Mostly removed | Mostly removed | 5–50 ppm |
| Carbon filter (pitcher) | Passes through | Passes through | Partial | Unchanged |
| Untreated tap | Passes through | Varies by source | Passes through | 50–400+ ppm |
Anywhere mineral buildup is the enemy.
Because nothing is left in it, Waltwater doesn't scale, spot, or interfere with anything sensitive to what's normally dissolved in water.
Drinking water
Clean, neutral taste with nothing else riding along with it.
Infant formula
Pediatric guidance often calls for water with no added minerals or contaminants.
CPAP & steam devices
No mineral scale in the humidifier chamber or iron plate over time.
Espresso & pour-over
No scale buildup in boilers and group heads — a common reason machines fail early.
Lab & medical
A neutral baseline for work that can't tolerate an unknown mineral load.
Auto & marine batteries
Lead-acid batteries specify mineral-free water for topping off cells.
Cooling systems
Reduces scale and corrosion inside radiators and closed-loop systems.
Reptile & aquarium
A clean starting point before remineralizing to a tank's exact spec.
